Work Roadtrip Day 3
- I slept in a little this morning. It helps when you can sleep in and there is an hour difference due to time change. I allows me to think its 9 am but its only 8. I enjoyed another good breakfast at the Holiday Inn express. They have a nice spead. Cinnamon rolls, biscuits, gravy, eggs, cereal, juices. Better then the usual continental breakfasts served.
- I decided since it is a long trip that I would just take it easy and just pack up and go to Camden, AR.
- Thank you Tom Tom- you have been clutch. Getting me from place to place. So far you have been deadon.
- I realized on how much I depend on technology. I had my GPS; iPod; phone charger; handsfree headset; digital camera all while I was driving.
- I saw some some odd things while I drove. I saw a giant cow, a giant sea horse, Paris, TX, it made for a funner then I thought trip.
- The Cobalt does alright on gas. I pumped at half a tank and in the big AR cities.
- During my drive I took pictures- Hard to drive and take pictures- figured it would entertain me and help me remember the trip.
- I drove mostly highway most of the trip and once I got off I30 it took me on a small 2 lane highway and at one point I was dirt roads. (Thanks Tom Tom!)
- I passed by the birthplace of Bill Clinton: Hope, AR.
- In Hope I ate at Amigo Juans- it was right before I headed to Camden, AR. Figured eat now or who knows what. At Amigo Juans I had the lunch special- Fajitas!
- Once I got onto the road to Camden it was a speed limit of 55 and that was for over 70 miles. It was not as bad as I thought. Had my iPod jamming out and I just enjoyed the winding roads.
- Where I am going has to be very far from civilization since they are exploding widgets.
- It was a fun drive since the road had curves and turns. I am glad I drove during day light.
- I am staying at the Comfort Inn and I can tell you that it is not the Holiday Inn I stayed at. I'm on the 3rd floor and have no wireless ability. So I am typing this in the breakfast area where breakfast is served.
- I was told to visit 2 places while in Camden- The WhiteHouse and Sand Dollar. So I drank at the White House and tried there black bean quesadilla rolls- they were good. I ended up trying a new beer- Fat Tire. Not bad stuff.
- After that I traveled less then a 1/4 of a mile to the Sand Dollar where I had the Pork Chops. They were very good. I can see why the locals like it so much. It was nice eating a meal that was a burger or chicken sandwich.
- I am looking to see how these widgets are made and I am hoping for the weather to cooperate. Thunder showers are expected and I just need it to be clear on my 100 mile commute to Little Rock to fly home in the afternoon.
- This has been a good trip. I missed Kristen very much, but I am glad I did it. It sucks being by myself though.
- Look forward to posting my pics of the trip. Amazing what you can capture while your driving.
- Last leg of the trip is tomorrow and then I come home!
