Bye Bye College Football.... Hello UCF Hoops!

Man I miss college football. Now is the time I realize how much I love college football. The season is over and I am having withdrawal.

UCF has gone through some changes- last year we won 4 game and this year we won 10 games, were conference champs and our RB, 24K, had the 2nd greatest rushing season in NCAA history. So we were at a high! We then went from 24K saying he was staying and headed to a bowl game to Losing the Liberty Bowl, losing 2 coaches, and 24K deciding to enter the NFL draft. Needless to say a lot of UCF fans are freaking out.

That is the great thing about college football- Your team can totally change in one year. I think we will be fine. the coaches and 24K will be missed, but these are the things that happen when you start winning. Players leave and coaches leave. Players step up and you can have a better "team" then you did the year before.

I am already excited for next football season. Tailgating again at the Brighthouse and going to the games and seeing everyone jump up and down during Zombie Nation. Feeling that whole college football vibe. What fun. Not to mention we are playing Miami, USF, and Boston College in '08. Get excited!!

I think the break helps feed the fire. It also helps having weekends get freed up. Things will happen in the next few months (ie. National signing day) and then spring football practice begins and it starts all over again.

The best part is that this is the time when College basketball picks up. Its conference play and everyone is racing to be one of the 65 to be selected to the BIG DANCE!

It has been tough seeing UCF play this tough schedule and come up short in the end vs some major hoops schools (Villanova, UConn, Ole Miss, @ Nevada). I think the tough schedule will make our team a better team in the end when it comes to conference play. Hopefully we will learn from the mistakes we made earlier in the season to propel us into a one of the top CUSA teams again.

Kirk knows that when you are defending well you are going to be in every ballgame. Of course shooting the ball well and hitting your free throws help too!

I will say that the Sports culture at UCF is changing and we have to thank the new facilities and winning to that!

It is a great time to be a Knight!
