Who cuts a barbers or hair stylists hair?

You would expect that the person cutting your hair has a good haircut and a nice style to it, especially if they are cutting your hair.  But who cuts there hair?  Do they do it themselves or do they have there own barber/stylist?  They have to have a nice haircut especially since you usually look at the hair person that is cutting your hair.  I know I have talked about how hard it is to find someone who does a good job cutting my hair.  I think I found my guy and he is good and takes his time and uses a straight razor to clean me up.  Does nice work.  The stuff he does to me is not something you can self administer on yourself.  At least not in the back of your head.
